Audiobooks are really great but it takes a while to get them recorded, approved, and finally produced. For authors, it does cost quite a bit of money to get them done by any of the services available these days. I currently do voice acting for ACX which publishes their audiobooks and Audible.com which is a branch of Amazon.com. Customers can purchase audiobooks directly from Audible or the audiobooks are linked to the eBook and paperback versions over on Amazon. A really nice service but the catalog of books is not really shared with large warehouses that distribute to schools, governments, and other bookstores around the country and the world.
For authors who want to have their books converted over to audio each publishing house has available on-staff voice actors, help sections to estimate costs based on the total number of words inside your book, as well as instructional videos for those who would like to record their own. It behooves each author to read through all the help sections as well as the contracts that they ask for when you commit to getting your works converted.
Below are links to each of the books I have recorded over the last 2 years. I am currently working on about 4 to 6 more at this time. There is plenty of work for those who like to pursue a career in voice acting. If you have any questions please feel free to use my CONTACT form and I will get back to you as soon as possible.
Titles I have narrated and published so far. Hope to have much more but it looks like ACX is about 6 months behind on their publishing.
Each has a sample that you can listen to before buying or asking for that narrator for your own books
